THE MEJI STORY
Founded in 2022 by Jitka Mertova in Brno, Czech Republic, MEJI was born from a vision to redefine eveningwear through exceptional craftsmanship, distinctive fabrics, intricate embellishment, and precise tailoring.
MEJI was created from a desire to bring a new perspective to eveningwear in the Czech Republic — one where bold glamour meets refined elegance, and every detail is considered.
Founder and Creative Director Jitka Mertova brings over 11 years of experience from London, where she worked for a prestigious fabric house supplying Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. During her time there, she developed an exceptional knowledge of luxury textiles and gained experience working with renowned designers and fashion houses, including Tom Ford, Ralph & Russo, and Valentino.
This experience became the foundation for MEJI’s distinctive approach to design — combining carefully selected fabrics, intricate embellishment and precise tailoring to create statement pieces designed for unforgettable evenings.
Today, MEJI celebrates individuality, confidence and the art of dressing beautifully, creating eveningwear for women who want to feel truly unforgettable.

Luxury with a Conscience
At MEJI, we believe that luxury and conscious design can exist beautifully together. We are committed to making thoughtful choices that reduce waste and give exceptional materials a new life.
A significant part of our collection is created using high-quality deadstock fabrics sourced from reputable suppliers and originally produced for luxury fashion houses. By working with these existing materials, we are able to create distinctive MEJI pieces while giving beautiful fabrics a second life and helping to reduce unnecessary waste.
We are also silk-free, reflecting our commitment to making more conscious choices throughout our design process.
We believe that true luxury is not only about how something looks, but also about how thoughtfully it is created.
Our journey toward more conscious fashion is ongoing. We continue to explore better materials, more responsible practices and new ways to reduce our impact — always striving to make more considered choices without compromising the craftsmanship and beauty that define MEJI.
